Casting Thy Bread Upon thy Waters

Cast your bread upon the waters, and it will come back to you, but sometimes without the proverbial crusts.  There have been days when I have cast my bread upon the waters, and it has yet to come back to me.  I sometimes go to a manmade lake, and when I cast my bread upon its waters, the ducks swim by and gobble it down.  But I don’t mind because that’s why I am there.

The other day, I cast my bread upon the waters where there were no ducks because I was at home, and it was an internet site for aspiring female writers, but this time it came back with unexpected results.

I posted my real-life picture and a profile answering one out of many questions.  The question was, “what are you?” so I answered, “I think I am a human being.”

The following day, an email from someone named Julia writing as John Derek, or John Derek being Julia, arrived.

“Comment Site . So I decided to stop by an let you know that I really want to have a good friendship with you. Getting suspicious, I told her/him that it was unusual she didn’t want to write about it since it is a site for writers.  Do you think I acted in haste, or was it just another get rich quick scheme?
